| Prof. Michael ZaiserFriedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg Prof. Dr. Michael Zaiser is currently the head of Institute of Materials Simulation in Department of Materials Science and Engineering, University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany. He got his Ph.D. in theoretical physics at the Max-Planck-Institut für Metallforschung (MPI-MF) in Stuttgart, Germany. Before he came back to Germany, he was a professor and deputy head in the School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh. His main research fields including dislocation theory, microstructures-based plasticity modelling, microstructure properties and design of metamaterials, deformation and failure of materials with amorphous or disordered microstructures, and data-driven approaches to materials design and property prediction. He has published more than 150 articles in peer-reviewed journals, including 2 in Science, 1 in Nature Physics, 1 in Nature Reviews Physics, 3 in Nature Communications and 6 in Physical Review Letters. |
| Prof. Yong NiUniversity of Science and Technology of ChinaProfessor Ni Yong holds a bachelor's degree (2000) and a doctorate (2004) from the University of Science and Technology of China. Subsequently, from 2005 to 2009, he conducted postdoctoral research at the Department of Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering of the University of Hong Kong, the Polymer Institute of the National Institute of Standards and Technology in the United States, and the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Rutgers University in the United States. I returned to China to work in 2009 and have long been committed to research in the intersection of materials science and mechanics. In August 2020, he/she was selected into the list of applicants for the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. ![]() | Prof. Jianbing ChenTongji UniversityProfessor Chen Jianbing graduated from Northeastern University with a bachelor's degree in July 1997. In September of the same year, he entered Tongji University to pursue a master's degree. In April 1999, he started his doctoral studies ahead of schedule. After obtaining his doctorate in June 2002, he remained at the university to teach. From June 2006 to June 2007, funded by the China Scholarship Council, I conducted visiting research at the University of Southern California in the United States. During this period, I was invited to visit the University of California, Berkeley, the University of California, Los Angeles, Rice University, Columbia University and the University of Houston and give academic reports. In July 2011 and September 2012, I gave lectures at Taiwan University of Science and Technology in China and Aalborg University in Denmark respectively. For a long time, he has been engaged in the research of structural engineering, stochastic dynamics and control, and structural reliability theory, especially focusing on the development of density evolution theory for response analysis and control of stochastic dynamic systems. Prof.Istvan GromaEötvös Loránd University, HungaryIn 1989, he/she obtained a summa cumlaude doctorate in Physics from Eotvos Lorand University Budapest. The title of the paper is "X-ray Line Width Broadening Caused by Dislocations". Received a Doctor of Science degree from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 2004. He used to be the director of the Institute of Physics at the University of Eltov. He is currently the head of the Department of Materials Physics and a full-time professor at Eotvos Lorand University of Budapest. Main research directions: X-ray spectrum analysis, collective dynamics of dislocations, dislocation dynamics simulation, continuous theory of slip, statistical characteristics of slip. |
